Lexington Fireworks display July 3rd, 2006. Click here to see more of the fireworks and the Lions' Club Carnival. With these pictures, I experimented with panning the camera during a slow exposure (2-4 seconds) and also zooming out during the exposure. I was about to experiment with zooming in when the show was paused due to the wind blowing ashes into the crowd. After the fireworks had been re-aimed and the show started again, I had packed away my tripod and camera. I hope you enjoy them. JH

Moon Time

Moon Time over our yard inspired me to try my Canon Rebel XT at night. The light in the sky is from the recent full moon obscured by clouds. I was amazed the camera was able to meter this scene so accurately. There's a few more shots here.

North Caicos

The beauty of the Caribbean waters are just like in all the travel magazines. We had a terrific time on North Caicos, a secluded island in Turks & Caicos. The seclusion was worthwhile in many ways: no locking up the room, the girls were able to roam around the hotel grounds with ease, and we spent 4 hours on the beach one day and saw only 2 other people. There are more pictures from our trip at this web album.
